Fuel System Maintenance and Upgrades

Fuel tank maintenance and inspections are a critical component to keeping your equipment and facility up and running while ensuring compliance is maintained.

As per O. Reg. 213/01: FUEL OIL, proper inspections need to be performed every 10 years to ensure the system is compliant and can receive fuel. Genrep offers Comprehensive fuel system and appliance inspections to satisfy this regulatory requirement.

Being a TSSA licensed contractor, Genrep’s team of Fuel System Specialists are licensed TSSA Oil Burner Technicians and Petroleum Mechanics. This allows Genrep to inspect, maintain and upgrade a wide variety of equipment in various applications. They are also able to remove existing fuel tank systems and dispose of fuel and equipment in an environmentally responsible manner.
Genrep performs inspections, maintenance and upgrades in accordance with local jurisdictions, O. Reg. 213/01: FUEL OIL as well as the CSA B139 Standard.
Our Fuel System Specialists work closely with our Engineering team to help design a fuel tank system based on your precise specifications.  Genrep provides Fuel Polishing Services to remove contaminants from fuel to ensure maximum fuel life and optimum generator performance. Load bank testing

Load Bank Testing

Load testing your generator is a vital part of keeping your generator at peak performance. This ensures that your generator will work when you need it to. Load bank testing under a maintenance program is mandated by the CSA 282-15. Having one of our highly trained technicians perform a test on the entire system at the designed load is strongly recommended to confirm all systems function as intended and designed, also ensuring any issues are properly identified pro-actively to avoid interruptions in an emergency situation. Genrep has skilled technicians with fully calibrated load banks that ensure accurate and thorough testing.

Load bank testing is the process of connecting an ancillary load to the generator system ensuring to test the system at its designed load. In most cases building or site load does not meet the equipment designed load rating, therefore a load bank test will ensure the generator system is loaded and tested to 100% of its capacity. The Canadian standards association requires a 4hr 100% load test at time of equipment commissioning and 2hrs at 100% annually as part of the annual maintenance and testing. Load testing a generator at 100% load helps the engine by bringing the equipment to proper operating temperature and eliminates carbon deposits, ensures proper testing of the cooling system under maximum pressure and helps identify any electrical issues on the generator.
